Labour and social security law
Reinstatement, severance and notice pay, employment claims and social-security disputes.
Labour law governs the relationship of subordination between employee and employer and the consequences of its termination. The Labour Law No. 4857 deals with the procedure for dismissal, notice and severance pay, overtime, annual leave and job security.
Mediation is a precondition to proceedings for employment claims and for reinstatement. The one-month period for applying for reinstatement runs from notification of the dismissal, and letting it pass extinguishes the right. Payroll records, timesheets, bank records and workplace correspondence are decisive on the evidence.
